FIRST PLACE          $1,000 donated jointly by Mr. & Mrs. Frank Vaculik (in
                                   honor of their uncle Jack Lerman’s 103rd birthday) and
                                   by Dr. & Mrs. Robert Klein.

SECOND PLACE   $700 donated by Dr. Kathleen Pistone Carucci and
                                    the Pistone Family in memory of Pasquale A.
                                  Pistone, founder of the orchestra.

THIRD PLACE         $600 donated by the family of Jerome Gino Sala, Music
                                   Director and Conductor of the orchestra for 30 years.

FOURTH PLACE     $400 donated by the family of Sharon Calandra, flutist
                                   with the orchestra for many years.

FIFTH PLACE          $200 donated by Mrs. Vera Zappia DeMarco in
                                   memory of her brother Pat J. Zappia.

**** APPLICATION FORM FOR THIRTY-SECOND ANNUAL CONCERTO COMPETITION ****

The five winners will be presented as soloists with the Yonkers Philharmonic  Orchestra in the special concert, "Concerto Time at the Philharmonic" under the baton of James Sadewhite, on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 3:00PM, at Saunders Trades and Technical High School.

ELIGIBILITY             High School Students (grades 9 through 12) who are
                                 residents of, or, who study in Westchester County.

AUDITION                 Instrumental contestants should be prepared to perform a
REQUIREMENTS   solo concerto of the standard orchestral repertoire. All
                                  movements must be performed.
                                  Piano contestants may perform either the first and second,
                                 or the second and third movements of a standard concerto
                                or a single movement composition for piano and orchestra.
                                 Vocal contestants should be prepared to perform three solo
                                arias of contrasting styles (e.g. florid vs. sustained) from
                                 the standard oratorio or operatic repertoire.

ALL CONTESTANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN ACCOMPANIST

APPLICATION FEE is $15 – make check payable to Fine Arts Orchestral Society

AUDITION DATE

Preliminary auditions will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010
